TAKING OUR LEAD FROM THE WILD CONVERSATION TOUR THE NETHERLANDS & GERMANY APRIL 2023
Here's a short photo/editorial summary of the tour taken from my LinkedIn feed. Enjoy the journey!
Rotterdam What a privilege to participate in a meaningful conversation in such a special space, with amazing people. A conversation about change, about integrating living patterns and principles into our mechanically-minded society and industry systems. A challenging and daunting task indeed. Where do I start? How do I collaborate? How can I do enough? Is it possible? For me, there is perhaps only one simple answer to unravel these critical and relevant questions: ONE CONVERSATION AT A TIME! But only if the conversation emerges from the heart, and from a space of deep ecological humility. If we take the lead from the wild.
Sailauf, Germany What an honour to speak at a wonderful event on behalf of a special client. Plugging into the great operating system of everything: CONSCIOUSNESS. Taking Our Lead From The Wild took to a different stage to probe, challenge and celebrate the meaning of wilderness in our lives. And how reconnecting with our own wild natures can inspire, create and innovate. Stories of wonder, humility, elephants and Bushman trackers provided a warm backdrop late into the night ... unveiling what we normally take for granted in life. Those that count the most Those that define us as human beings. Very grateful for the opportunity. The TAKING OUR LEAD FROM THE WILD conversation
Wageningen University An unplugged sunset conversation at one of the most prestigious universities in NL. Stories of the wilderness in Africa, and the wild in us all. A sacred space that lies just beneath the surface ... A little reconnection brings it into view. A meaningful session with amazing people who get it. What a privilege to learn from them ... The teacher always remains the student. After almost 2hours, the cold weather eventually ended a meaningful Q@A discussion.
Zeewolde What a thrill to track fox barefoot in the wilds of Holland! Another first for yours truly... And long discussions unpackiung the complexities of wolf conservation. There are believed to be 9 breeding pairs in the country ... what a story this is! Beautiful, confronting, relevant and challenging conversations ... perhaps essential to re-wild our story of consciousness.'Taking Our Lead From The Wild': what lies beneath the surface, hidden from view is where we must go.
Hengelo A grand morning of discussion and conversation...untangling the complexities of wilderness conservation and the relevance of wild space in our modern world. Did you know that the most abundant bird species on the planet is the chicken ... food for humans? Did you know that we share almost 50% of our genetic material with a banana? These revelations emerge from meaningful and challenging conversations ... those that cut to the heart of both our ecological impact and humility on the blue planet.
Drenthe Glorious unplugged moments reflecting on what nature and wild space represent to us. And ultimately what they mean to the well being of the human spirit. The weather gods smiled at us for a day in the sun, sharing stories of animal tracks, edible plants and indigenous wisdom. Did you know that we can discover more about creating sustainable abundance from a resource by watching how deer feed? So often, the great answers we search for can be found in the most subtle of places...
Amsterdam An impactful conversation exploring the heart of modern leadership. And challenging our "ecological insignificance" in the world. A necessary confrontational and humbling reality ... is it not? Changing our paradigms and belief systems is a massive and daunting task. Is it indeed possible? And how? To what? Perhaps these vulnerable and healing conversations are the gateway ... to take our lead from the wild. The conversation tour continues toward another meaningful encounter and boardroom jungle
Freiburg & Lorrach, Germany Learning institutions are so vitally important in the paradigm of change and disrupting our flawed consumptive systems. But what good is a system change if it is not accompanied by a change in consciousness? Student councils and keystone individuals are essentially an interface between innovative and meaningful transition, and university policies. It could be said that the only effective change comes from within. So these young changemakers are the pioneering re-writers of a crucial story. That of modern leadership principles.
